    The show description is below

Order and chaos are often considered opposites, but they are actually interconnected and can coexist.

How do artists deal with this relationship in art?

How do you as an individual artist deal with order and chaos in your work?

Do you use a grid or other organizational system?

Is your approach governed by outside or objective concerns (physical shape, physical space, distance, etc).

    Do you employ rules?

Do you approach your work from inner impulse, outer inspiration, sensation, or reaction to stimulus?

This exhibition will examine these relationships and the variety of ways to interpret them. Artists are encouraged to include a narrative addressing these concerns.

  • Member Meet & Greet

We received 17 responses last week to the possibility of a Member Event. A few members mentioned they would be able to answer if they knew the date and time.

I’m using your responses to see if this is something we should even consider. I think it is. So if you agree just sign up here and say yes. It doesn’t obligate you but it lets us know that this is something you want.

  • We Want To Hear From You

I realized that some aren’t familiar with how we conduct exhibitions at BWAC. So this is a quick overview and a short survey to gauge how you feel about shows here.

Ok, we typically run shows from April to November with an off-season during the winter months.

For each exhibition period, we have 3 to 4 shows:

1 Member Show, which you are automatically eligible for

2 Juried Shows, which you can apply for at a discounted member rate

1 Solo Show, which you can apply for at a member rate, but is also open to non-members and needs to be approved well in advance

We usually have 4 exhibition periods (Spring, Summer, Fall I & Fall II)

We also have shows in which we partner with other arts organizations like Park Slope Winsor Terrace and Red Hook Open Studios.

My quick survey here is only 10 questions. I hope to hear from you.
