Pianist Roy Meriwether is a unique stylist and an underground legend. A child prodigy, he was signed to Columbia Records in the late 60s, releasing four albums in the soul-jazz vein. Later, independent releases showcased his longer-form explorations of interesting material, including the cult classic 1973 LP Nubian Lady, which was recently reissued. His vibrant, gospel-tinged style continues to astound.
