PREMIER EXHIBITION FOR MULTI-TALENTED ARTIST
In collaboration with K. Jeffries Consulting, Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) is sponsoring a solo exhibition for Gianni Lee. Titled “Why Won’t You Hear Me?” it will feature new artwork from March 25, 2017 through April 16, 2017. Gianni Lee, a multi-talented creative is best known for his wildly popular fashion brand Babylon Cartel and DJ residencies around the world. Fine art is a new venture for him. The exhibition will take place at BWAC’s 7,000 square foot pre-Civil War era ground floor gallery overlooking the Statue of Liberty in Red Hook, New York City. The space is generously donated by The O’Connell Organization.
BWAC continues to fulfill its mission of supporting emerging artists and celebrating the art of the living. Gianni Lee has partnered with brands such as Kenneth Cole, Mountain Dew, and Complex and as BWAC’s current artist-in-residence, he is excited and humbled about his first major art exhibition. “My goal as an artist is to be heard and inspire change. I just think about growing up in West Philly. This wasn’t supposed to happen coming from where I’m from. I am truly grateful for this experience,” said Lee in regards to his upcoming show.
Katrina Jeffries is an exhibition coordinator at BWAC. She is an artist and is constantly advocating for artists. Jeffries is very excited to have the opportunity to work with BWAC on this very special exhibition. She hopes this show will bring a new energy to BWAC and thanks the Board for their support.
